Nekaneet Fire Hall
Nekaneet First Nation, 2025
Located high in the beautiful Cypress Hills in southwestern Saskatchewan, this 240 square metre fire hall will provide a new home for Nekaneet First Nation’s community fire department. The two-bay building will accommodate a large pumper truck and brush truck, and will include a dedicated equipment decontamination space designed to meet current NFPA firefighting standards to prevent exposure to carcinogens. The design also includes ample equipment storage, washroom/shower facilities, and upper-level meeting room with a kitchenette for training and logistics. The naturally-weathering Corten steel cladding was selected to compliment the unique color palette of the community’s location, and will provide both warm, organic textures and maintenance-free durability for years to come.
