Obasa Building Revitalization
Saskatoon SK, 2018
The Obasa Building, formerly known as the Investors Syndicate Building was one of Saskatchewan’s first high rise buildings using a steel structure and glass curtainwall system. Built in the 1960’s, it had been renovated several times covering much of its original character. The revitalization project restored elements of the buildings modernist style, such as the original ‘bowtie’ canopy and main floor transom windows, while upgrading the facade. Integrating colour and lighting made this building back into a Saskatoon landmark and earned the project a Saskatoon Heritage Award of Honour.
