Obasa Building Revitalization

Saskatoon SK, 2018

The Obasa Building, formerly known as the Investors Syndicate Building, was one of Saskatchewan’s first high rise buildings using a steel structure and glass curtainwall system.   Built in the 1960’s, it had been renovated several times and much of its original character was obscured.  Our revitalization project restored several original modernist features, such as the original ‘bowtie’ canopy and main floor transom windows, while upgrading the facade.  Integrating colour and lighting made this building back into a Saskatoon landmark and earned the project a Saskatoon Heritage Award of Honour.
